Nancy Carlson, CTS - Partner
CAD Design and Sales Engineering
Nancy has worked for Audio Architects since June 2001 after graduating in from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota with a degree in physics and mathematics. She has always been involved in music through church and school groups, and became interested in the science and electronics behind sound production after working for a recording and production studio in Minnesota throughout high school and college.
At Audio Architects, Nancy is responsible for all the CAD (Computer Aided Design) work associated with designing and installing sound systems. This includes 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional modeling of rooms, rack layout diagrams, and signal path diagrams. She also works with the sales team to make sure all details of a project are taken care of from the start.
Nancy and her husband live a few miles outside of Eau Claire with their Irish Setter. In her free time she can be found working on projects around their house, listening to music, and reading or watching science fiction or fantasy books and movies.
Andy Pierson - Partner
Senior Sales Engineer
Andy began with Audio Architects in September 2002 as an Installation Technician. Around January of 2004 Andy began excelling at sales and client relations, and today is the Senior Sales Engineer. Additionally, Andy has become the lead Digital Signal Processor Programmer.
Recently, Andy finished programming the audio system for the new University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire Davies Center, one of the largest installations of the Biamp Tesira product. Andy has designed and programmed hundreds of successful A/V projects around the state, traveling around 20,000 miles a year. Many of those projects are highlighted on the projects page.
Andy brings a unique understanding of safety at heights - a key skill for an Installation Technician - with his work as a high ropes instructor at Stevens Point Area Senior High School. He also worked as a radio station engineer at Northern Michigan University and has years of experience doing live sound reinforcement. He has a biology degree from University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point.
Andy and his wife live in Eau Claire with their Leonberger mix Dexter, and one cat. The few moments where he is not at work, he enjoys listening to music, going to concerts, backpacking, camping, kayaking, and traveling.
Darin Wagner - Partner
Darin joined Audio Architects in May 2006 and was promoted to Project Manager in 2012 and has completed level one and two certifications in the NSCA EST program. Darin works hard to keep everyone organized to ensure that projects run smoothly. Not only does Darin manage projects, but you can find him performing many of the installations as well.
Darin and his wife live in Eau Claire with their two children, two dogs and one cat. In his spare time Darin attempts to sleep but also enjoys reading, watching movies, working around the house, and playing with his kids!
Brenda was the accounting manager at UMS straight out of her associate degree in accounting from Chippewa Valley Technical College. Brenda left UMS briefly to join another company as an accountant, but joined up with Audio Architects again in 1988 part-time and in 1991 she made the switch to full-time.
Brenda's extensive family lives nearby, so her free time is spent with them or researching genealogy.
Chris has worked for Audio Architects since May 2016 after graduating from WITC in Rice Lake. She has great experience with office management and helps keep track of the day to day tasks for our sales and technician teams.
Chris and her husband live in Chetek with Boaz, their Black Labrador Retriever.
In her free time Chris can be found enjoying the great outdoors by means of fishing, hunting, or on her motorcycle. She is an avid football fan with a goal to make it to each of the different NFL stadiums for a football game. She also enjoys spending time with family and friends and serving in her local church.
Nick began with Audio Architects in April 2016 as a Sales Engineer. He most recently worked at the UW - River Falls as an A/V technician and an Associate Facility Director.
Nick has worked with a variety of manufacturers products including Crestron, Extron, Biamp and has design, installation and programming experience.
He has a background in manufacturing control systems, industrial robotics and staff management.
Nick lives in New Richmond with his wife and two children. In his spare time he plays piano and enjoys woodworking and waterskiing.
Jason Schroeder, DMC-E
Service & Programming Technician
Jason has worked with Audio Architects since 2009. Prior to joining the team he worked for a variety of technology companies through the Eau Claire and Minneapolis area. He has experience with everything from home audio, video, control to data network wiring, to lighting automation and now works in the church and school audio/video market. He works as an installer when needed, but is primarily our service technician, school intercom programmer, and builds/wires all the equipment racks for all of our projects. He is Crestron DMC-E certified and is working his way through the programming certification.
Jason grew up in and has lived in the Eau Claire area most of his life; for a short time he lived in Ely, MN. He is married with two school-aged children. His free time is split between church and school activities, working on cars, hunting, and fishing.
Service & Programming Technician
Michael has worked with us since 2015 as one of our Programmers/Technicians. Always learning and developing, he digs deep into writing code and expanding the possibilities with what we can control and automate. He enjoys working with audio and giving the final touches to a system, working in the middle of the design, installation and completion of many projects.
Outside of work Michael enjoys playing and technically working with various musicians, in both recording and live scenarios, as well as some hobby electronics projects.
Tim has worked with us since 2015. He enjoys working with audio and video systems. Tim has prior experience with lighting, rigging and show production. His rigging experience is valuable when it is time to hang countless speakers in gyms, auditoriums and other spaces.
Tim enjoys listening to music and camping in his free time.
Chris has worked with us since 2015. He enjoys working with audio both in a live environment as well as recording studios. Chris spends many of his days working on scaffolding and lifts hanging speakers, screens and projectors.
Chris enjoys singing and working as a freelance audio engineer.
